Unboxing
Your WTT board comes ready to go — no soldering, no software to install. Just plug in and configure.
What’s in the box
- WTT departure board
- USB-C cable (1m)
- Quick start card
- Magnetic faceplate
Step 1: Power up
Plug the USB-C cable into the port on the back of the board and connect to any USB power source — a wall adapter, laptop, or power bank.
The display will show the SignalGlow logo, then switch to the Wi-Fi setup screen.
Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi
- On your phone or laptop, look for a Wi-Fi network called WTT-Setup
- Connect to it (no password needed)
- A configuration page will open automatically
- If it doesn’t, open a browser and go to
192.168.4.1
Step 3: Configure your station
On the config page you’ll see:
- Wi-Fi Network — select your home Wi-Fi and enter the password
- Station — type the name or CRS code of your station (e.g. “Edinburgh Waverley” or “EDB”)
- Display options — number of departures to show, scroll speed
Hit Save and the board will restart and connect to your Wi-Fi.
Step 4: Mount it
The back plate has 6 neodymium magnets. Options:
- Magnetic surface — snap directly onto a metal shelf, filing cabinet, or fridge
- Wall mount — stick a small metal plate to the wall with adhesive, then snap the board to it
- Desk stand — lean it against something, or print a stand (STL file coming soon)
Changing your station
Press the reset button on the side of the board to re-enter setup mode. The board will broadcast the WTT-Setup network again.
Alternatively, if you know the board’s IP address on your network, you can visit http://[board-ip]/config to change settings without resetting.
Swapping faceplates
The faceplate is held on by magnets. Just pull it off and snap a new one on. We’ll be offering different faceplate designs — keep an eye on the updates page.
Troubleshooting
Board shows “No Wi-Fi”
- Check your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Make sure you’re using a 2.4GHz network (5GHz is not supported)
- Move the board closer to your router
Board shows “No data”
- The Darwin feed may be temporarily down — wait a few minutes
- Check your station code is valid at National Rail
Display is blank
- Check the USB-C cable is firmly connected
- Try a different USB port or adapter
- Press the reset button on the side
Firmware updates
Your board checks for updates automatically when connected to Wi-Fi. When an update is available, it will download and install it in the background — you’ll see a brief “Updating…” message.
See the firmware changelog for release notes.
